Resources to Keep Kids Safe During the Pandemic
Picture
Child abuse increases in times of uncertainty. You can help to keep kids safe:

  • CONNECT with families you know (but maintain social distance). Call or text to let them know you are thinking about them. Listen if they want to talk to you.
  • OFFER/ASK FOR HELP. We’re all in this together.
  • TAKE A BREAK from the news and social media. Encourage others to do so.
  • BREATHE. Try “4-7-8.” Inhale slowly to the count of 4, hold your breath for the count of 7; and exhale slowly to the count of 8. Share this with others!
  • REPORT suspected abuse. Call 911 or the Virginia Child Abuse Hotline at 800-552-7096.

Together we can keep kids safe!
